We offer In-Person grief support groups
Our small size groups are perfect for those who are nervous attending a meeting for the first time.
Our meetings are typically no more than 10 people per session. We meet for 1 hour every other week. Meeting size and schedule is set up this way to promote a more welcoming atmosphere where members quickly feel comfortable sharing.
Most people who attend have never been to a support group and often do not plan on sharing too much during their first meeting but once in attendance find that it is very easy to open up because they are surrounded by people who also feel very similar and simply “get it”.
Group meetings are free of charge. No insurance is necessary, as this is NOT medical treatment. Each member of the group is invited to share their feelings, ideas, obstacles, and experience, but it is also up to each person to discern what information they choose to implement in their grief journey and what they choose to discard. Members attending are welcome to share their individual beliefs, faith, opinions, and ideas, but one person’s ideology man not be the right fit for someone else.
Upon attending a meeting it is suggested that attendees imagine that they are coming in with an empty toolbox. As they share and listen to others share, they may pick up a “tool” or strategy that has helped someone else heal. It is through this process that we take some of the “tools” that we feel will help us heal and we add them to our toolbox.
Meetings are held in Fall River, Massachusetts on Thursday evenings at 6:30 PM. This is subject to change and additional days or times may be added based off of demand. Due to the confidential and sensitive nature of these meetings, we do not allow walk-ins without a prior phone or in person discussion where we can answer each other’s questions and open up a dialog about why you may be looking to attend.
